GRADUATE SCHOOL ETD GUIDELINES

Updated: 12/07/2006

The Graduate School of Arts & Sciences and the Joseph Mark Lauinger Digital Library Project are pleased that you have chosen to prepare an electronic thesis or dissertation (ETD). The following guidelines should help you in the preparation and submission of your work. Please note that these guidelines are in addition to the specific requirements of your department. Also note that the submission of signed forms detailed in our paper thesis guidelines (http://grad.georgetown.edu/pages/thesis.cfm) are still applicable when preparing and submitting an electronic thesis. This link also contains the Guidelines for Dissertation and Thesis Writers, which apply to both paper and electronic theses regarding formatting, unless your electronic thesis is non-traditional or multimedia.

Paper guidelines for electronic submission may be found here: ETD Handout. To submit your thesis or dissertation electronically, you will need to convert the text to PDF format. For an on-line tutorial, please visit http://createpdf.adobe.com/index.pl. If you have multiple files to submit, you will be required to save your files in a Zip file (PC) or Stuffit file (Mac). Additional assistance may also be available from University Information Services and the Gelardin Media Center.
